DEBRA HUSE
FAVE ART SUPPLIES
Gamblin Oil colors used for
“Keep You Out of Trouble Palette”
Cadmium Yellow Lemon, Quinacridone Red, Raw Sienna, Alizarine Crimson, Ultramarine Blue, Viridian,
Chromatic Black and Titanium White
AND Huse Hues Marine Violet, Signal Flag Red & Anchor Green, (purchase Huse Hues only by clicking link below) or at live workshops.
SIGNAL FLAG RED is specially formulated by Debra Huse and made by Gamblin Oils. It is a tad less intense than Permanent or Cad Red and warmed to a red-orange. What is red in the sun? Signal Flag Red. It has a bit of white mixed in to give it the radiance that red in the sun really needs.
MARINE VIOLET is specially formulated by Debra Huse to "keep you out of trouble" with purple. Out of the tube, it is a great, cool dark.
With the addition of white, it is a beautiful, neutral violet. It won’t go toward pink when mixed with white like most purples on the market.
What color is white in shadow? -this color! (when a bit of white is added to Marine Violet).
ANCHOR GREEN is also specially formulated by Debra Huse to "keep you out of trouble" with green. Green is always a trouble maker.
When green is mixed from Ultramarine Blue and Yellow it is way too intense and unrealistic in color for most uses.
Anchor Green is specifically made with Gamblin’s own Chromatic Black and a special transparent yellow.
Out of the tube, ANCHOR GREEN is a great, warm super dark transparent green -great for scrubbing-in shadows of trees, bushes and grass. With the addition of white, it is a beautiful, neutral green great for beautiful trees in shade.
Add Cadmium Yellow Lemon, Orange or Signal Flag Red to get rich realistic green in your paintings.

Rosemary & Co. are makers of the finest handmade brushes. They have created 2 sets of Debra's favorite brushes.
Click these green links TO PURCHASE the DEBRA HUSE BASICS SET and the Debra Huse Extended Set
The Huse Basics Set from the Rosemary & Co Ivory line is perfect for any artist. They have a great feel, not too stiff like hog bristol brushes, and not as soft as a generic synthetic. The short flats are to "scrub in the darks", and the longer flats are to lay-in the middle and lighter values with confidence with enough paint for the viewer to enjoy your brush strokes.
This technique is called “Lay it in and Leave it Alone” in Debra Huse's popular workshops.
The pure sable series 90 is what Debra refers to as her “Rigger” brush.
It allows the artist to lay details on top of thicker paint when finishing (also used for signing).
NEW! ask Rosemary & Co for the 11” handle Debra Huse Series 90 Sable “Rigger” in addition to your set.
